About Tim Kirchoff
Most photos I take are from the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont (where I live). From broad landscapes to intimate close-ups of nature. This part of Vermont is known for its scenic natural and bucolic beauty. This drives me to be creative and unique with my work in the hope it holds the viewer's interest. This is amazing. Did you camp at the top of the mountain? However did you get down in the dark? The layers of mountains in the background are amazing.
Tim Kirchoff replied:
There is an access road that gets you within a 1/4 mile of the Owl's Head summit. Then it is a short hike up a well built trail (good stone steps built into the steep parts). I grabbed some pictures of the sunset and then headed back to the car. As long as you get down before dark the gate will still be open. A flashlight is recommended for the hike down. The next morning, I did a predawn hike (via headlamp) to an nearby mountain that doesn't offer road access and got some pictures of the valley fog with the sunrise.
